"CAFE" Short length Maekake
This is the highest quality "No.1 Maekake", reissued after 40 years in Toyohashi, Aichi, where Maekake is produced.
40-50 years ago, the Maekake was originally woven to be thick, strong and the more it is used the more it becomes familiar to the body.
Unlike the flat and uniform fabrics that are woven in large quantities by machines in recent years, this fabric is carefully woven on a shuttle loom which gives it a gentle and rustic touch as well as a good texture.
The weaving is thicker because of the use of thicker yarns that are made in Japan.
The dyeing process is highly skilled and ensures that the colours does not fade but the results in a soft and textured finish.
The pockets are on the front side.
The slightly shorter “cafe” size is very popular with women.
The belt is made from 100% cotton and is very strong and stretchy with a red and white coloured cord which has been used since ancient times to symbolise prosperity.
Each piece is carefully sewn in Japan.
It comes in a Japanese paper box with the ANYTHING gold leaf logo, making it the perfect gift.
